I was born and raised in Arizona. I now reside further north and I love the snow.
Very few things are as beautiful as the desert in bloom. Fog freezing
on the trees is one of those few things.
I was the oldest of 6. My youngest sister was born 9 months after my oldest son. He
really got a kick out of calling her "Aunt" when they spent a semester in the same high school.
The picture to the right is my mother about 8 months pregnant. She is holding my oldest son.
I have been married for 39 years. My husband is retired Air Force. We spent most
of our time in the US, but lived in Okinawa, Japan for 3 years. Our daughter was
born there. I tell people she was made in the USA, but assembled in Japan.
I have five children, four boys and one girl. I also have twelve grandchildren, six girls and six boys.
I love sewing, woodworking, cake decorating, and any kind of crafting. I have been
making Halloween costumes and birthday cakes for my kids from the time they were little.
I'm an avid gamer. I love Zelda, Warcraft, and Skyrim. I also play D&D with my oldest son. The grandkids
love to beat me at Mario, Donky Kong, and their crazy ninja fruit game.
I've been playing the violin since I was nine. I performed on the 2002 Cowboy Poetry Album
of the Year, "Out with the Crew", by
Chris Isaacs. Chris is an award winning cowboy poet, and the best dad ever!
I studied tap, jazz, and ballet when I was young. As an adult, I began bellydancing
after my youngest son was born.
I'm retired, but I volunteer as the clerk for the cemetery where my youngest son is buried.
My favorite color is purple. It is a reminder of my two boys in Heaven. Matthew, my third son,
died at 12 weeks gestation. He was born in February and his birthstone is an amethyst.
Jacob, my youngest son, was taken by SUDEP, a complication of epilepsy. The color for eplilepsy
is also purple. One of my most prized possessions is a small piece of amethyst that Jacob bought for me while
on his honeymoon. He knew it was special to me because of Matthew. Now it is a beautiful
reminder of both my boys.
